[DYSPHAGIA] CPR/Heimlich maneuver



I'd think you'd remove the valve and use the trach to ventilate in most
cases.  But I can see where it would be individual- some people could
probably be facemask or mouth to mouth ventilated very well.  The main
caution with a Passy is that dangerous air trapping can occur if there is
no route for exhalation around the tube and through the larynx above; this
could occur in a choking situation even if no problem with that before
and the Passy was indicated and used properly.
