What's been suggested may surely be true. I have no question that there are a good numbers of academics who are still subscribers to this listserve. I have no statistics, but I suspect that, as is the case for the ASHA membership, the overwhelming majority of listserve subscribers are not academics. I'd suggest that a more likely reason is that pre- & post-ASHA followed by holiday time is a busy time of the year.
