[Dysphagia] pediatric swallow

Hi. I need some clarification and information regarding pediatric
swallowing and ear infections. An ENT advised me to stop bottle feeding
my 13 month old completely due to her chronic ear infections (he stated
that research shows a high correlation). He said the same is not true
of breast-feeding babies because nursing is more passive. It was my
understanding that breast-feeding requires more oral motor exertion than
bottle feeding (thus breast-fed babies have superior oral musculature
development). I am an SLP who primarily works with adults. I'd be
grateful for any expertise you all could offer. Thanks!
