[Dysphagia] Digital storage

Our radiology dept is going digital
TIMS Dicom System

Which brings up a some issues for us.
As the files to be archived are HUGE, it takes a long time to do so. We
have been asked if there is any way to pare down the amount of archived
information.

So the question arises as to whether it is legal or ethical to save a
"representative sample" of the study (ex 1/3 puree or liquid trials) as
opposed to the whole thing, of course the reporting would reflect the
entire study.

What is the medical record...the report? The films? Both?

How long are they kept?

Thanks in advance
