[Dysphagia] free water protocol

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone uses the free water protocol, and, if so, can you direct me to information re: how it is utilized.  Also, is there any published studies re: same that I can present to my hospital.  I want to recommended it, however, I am not comfortable with it until I can read the literature and studies, and, of course, I need some backing for the hospital.  I am hoping to also present it to the nursing homes that we work with, as, so far, none are implementing it.
