We too have a PACS system but Philips company was able to connect a VCR and we have option of digital 1-8FPS, our Radiologist is happy to record up to 3FPS because of increase in Radiation dose as the FPS go high. We have recently purchased a VCR/DVD converter, so we are now storing MBS on DVD and hoping to play on computer once we get DVD player installed and capture images as required for reporting or play with the speed for education purpose as required. I still request the Rad to take some digital images for reporting purpose ..just saves the hassle.. DVDR is great system as we can store pt record by name and storage is easy and will stage ad infinitum not... sure how long DVD system will last any way ...some new system will replace it soon I am sure.

Hi,
Is anyone aware of an easy-to-use, effective system for recording VFSS? Our hospital has PACS but it is only capable of recording up to 4 frames per second. We've tried a video camera but it resulted in a very poor-quality recording. My radiology technician informs me that a conventional VCR has insufficient line rate and he has been unable to find a high line-rate VCR that is compatible with our existing equipment. We are currently considering the possibility of a downscanner/digitial-video converter system that would be hooked up to a laptop computer and costs approximately $10,000. Is there anything out there that's easier (and preferably cheaper)?
