[Dysphagia] Aeorphagia

An Internal Medicine physician has requested information/intervention from
our department regarding a patient who is s/p laproscopic placement of an
adjustable gastric band for weight loss who has been dealing with
excessive belching/flatulence since the procedure. They have ruled out
lactose intolerance or intolerance for other food categories. So, the
physician's next step was to ask if our field has had any experience with
treating aeorphagia particularly in this population of patients.

Any experience out there? I just pulled an article from the Behavior
Modification journal entitled, "Behavioral Treatment of Chronic Belching
Due to Aerophagia in a Normal Adult" as a place to start. Not sure this is
within my scope of experience though.

Thanks for any input.
