[Dysphagia] physios/chiropractors in swallowing rehab

Hello Deanna,
I have taken the first CranioSacral course offered by the Upledger
Institute (see www.upledger.com) and have found it a very helpful
ADJUCNCT to therapy but have never heard anyone claim to be able cure
dysphagia with one manipulation.  I have stopped migraines with one
manipulation, but on the whole it should be thought of as a gentle,
"over time" kind of thing.  I have referred several children on my
caseload for CST and seen reduction in GERD (my own son included).  Did
you hear anything on the news a year or two ago about the conjoined
Egyptian twins who underwent separation surgery in Dallas?  They are
getting regular CST.  

I think there is enough there to warrant further exploration and have
seen and experienced direct results and improvement in some areas, but
there is certainly a lot of room for quackery and I advise people to go
carefully.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had any experience with either physiotherapists or
chiroractors who do spinal manipulations, treating patients with
dysphagia...especially due to reduced anterior hyoid movement?

A colleague spoke with a private physiotherapist who does
"cranio-sacral" therapy (I hope I got the term right), who said he could
fix the dysphagia with 1 manipulation!

I would be interested to see this...or hear from anyone who knows
anything about this.
