I just completed the DPNS course this past October and the instructor spoke
extensively about the importance of salivation in swallow and that the Tech
#11: Foley tech was to stimulate Autonomic salivation. This information can
be found in the course manual. Try the Tech # 11 on yourself and you'll see
the results. This has worked well with individuals with dry mouth at our
facility.
