One cognitive-linguistic test that I really like is
the ALFA - Assessment for Language-Related Functional
Abilities. It's not just for memory though - it
assesses various cognitive-linguistic skills by having
the patient perform various functional tasks such as
medication management, planning a schedule, and
reading a recipe. I have found it useful for
assessing patients with various etiologies like right
CVA, mild dementia, and TBI, to get a better picture
of their functional difficulties.
