[Dysphagia] Weekend Coverage

I knew full well when I sent my reply to the list serve that I would receive numerous negative/oppositional comments--but you know, that's okay.  We all agree to disagree.  My job is not a job.  It is a commitment to the totality of enhancing quality of life and I believe I make a difference.  If a physician calls me on Christmas Eve and needs my consult, you can bet I will be there.  I apparently used a phrase that incited the riot--"prima donna"--so forget I said that.  So what if there are 14 OT/PT's to staff a department.  Without nutritional stability, they won't be walking or dressing themselves.  I have worked 6/7 days a week for 23 years and am secure in the fact that I adhere to the standards of practice and have the respect of the physicians who work side by side with me to insure quality of care.  And that may be more than 2 cents worth.  Patti
