[Dysphagia] Christmas coverage- survey results

I thought some of you might be interested in the breakdown of Christmas
coverage based on the results of the question I posed last week about
acute care coverage in Level 1 Trauma centers. I found the amount of
variation interesting. There were 19* responses, in addition to my own
facility:
40% have no coverage at all on Christmas day
40% have in-house staffing
20% have on call staffing
* 2 other facilities have someone with a choice to work 2 of the 3 days
of the 24th, 25th and 26th and be on call the other. We might be able to
extrapolate that those therapists will choose not to work on Christmas
day, but since that might not be the case, I didn't include them in the
groupings. If my assumption IS correct, that would bring the on-call
group to 30%.
This also revealed significant variation in weekend staffing in general,
with several people stating they either had coverage 7 days a week
regardless of a holiday, or never have coverage on weekends at all. It's
pretty interesting.
I would be interested to know, of those of you who have in-house
coverage 365 days a year, how many therapists do you have on staff? Just
curious.
Have a good weekend (whether you have to work or not!)
