[Dysphagia] hypoglossal nerve injury

Dear Colleagues-

I recently saw a patient who had a slash injury (from
a knife) to the neck. He sustained a hypoglossal
nerve injury-and he is undergoing further assessment
as an outpatient to determine if the nerve was
completely severed or not. He is being followed by
ENT. I am not currently at work so I do not have all
of the specifics in front of me.

Can anyone point me in the direction of
literature/articles regarding hypoglossal nerve
injury, and possible remediation (if the nerve is
still intact)? I appreciate any information you could
provide.

Thank you!
