I am seeking information on the nutritional value of commercial "baby food" as it relates to supportive nutrition in the geriatric population. I have the good fortune to be a support professional for someone readmitted to our facility with a new CVA who is receiving Hospice services. We want to provide comfort care and allow the family to feed her safely. She is unable to manage our pureed food. No bolus movement or realization of need to do so. All smooth consistencies (i.e., yogurt, ice cream, pudding and thin liquids) are managed will minimal issues. Some one in our corporate structure told us that commercial infant food had depleted nutritional value for adults. Any one know this for a fact? Thanks for any input, Patti
