Oh most definitely Irene, yes, this question should be asked for all ages. It is my narrow pedi perspective on this case that caused me to ask, why would we add rice to an infant's diet when his GI tract isn't ready and can be damaged!
So yes, I agree, one) why recommend something that has no proven benefit and two) remember "do no harm".... double edged sword so to speak?
Thanks for reminding me to think beyond infants though!! :)
