[Dysphagia] myasthenia gravis
The first thing I would do, especially in a person of his age is to determine whether or not he really has MG and not thyrotoxicosis that can present identically. In MG, if the medication assists then it also assists the swallow. Is he on meds for MG?

hospital for 2 months with severe dysphagia. His swallowing fluctuates
such that some days he can manage small amounts of thin liquids and
runny purees and other days he suctions his saliva from his oral
cavity. I have read that sometimes less is more in terms of treatment
with MG but I have tried thermal stim, effortful and Mendelssohn (which
fatigue his swallow more rapidly ) and have told him that all his
drinks etc must be ice cold. Is there other suggestions? He seems to be
pooling in the pharynx and after seveeral swalllows coughs alot of it
back. His chest is clear and his cough is strengthening. Any
suggestions welcome.
