[DYSPHAGIA] Barium Textures



Ask and I shall receive... The day after I brought up the barium viscosity issue on the list serve a 
salesperson called. JoAnn Robbins and Jeri Logemman have helped the E-Z-EM Company develop Nectar, 
Honey and Pudding consistency liquids for barium studies. The nectar and honey consistencies are 
apple flavored and the pudding consistency is vanilla flavored. They were  developed to match the 
Novardus (sp?) company's drink box textures and do not have the unwanted coating properties that the 
barium developed for upper GI studies do. If interested (By the way, I'm not connected with their 
company)the toll free number is 1-800-544-4624 and their web site is <www.ezem.com>. We feel we'll 
likely use less barium when we don't have to pre-mix... We'll see.
