[DYSPHAGIA] SLP Charges
I am responding to the queries about codes to use for SLP evaluations. I am a
member of the ASHA Health Care Economics Committee. I am looking at the 2000
Medicare Fee Schedule. The basic SLP codes are not time based.
92506 is the CPT code for SLP evaluation - no distinction for brief or
complex.....
92507 is CPT code for SLP treatment - again not time based.
92525 is Dysphagia evaluation (one charge if clinic and instrumental are done
on the same day or consecutive days if part of the comprehensive evaluation).
92526 is dysphagia treatment
70371 is a code listed under Instrumental ASsessment and is described as
Pharyngeal and speech evaluation, cine/video (may need to be cleared by your
fiscal intermediary).
I don't have time to go into any more detail. Hope this helps. The Medicare
Fee SChedule can be obtained through ASHA - most other third party payers
base fees in relation to the Medicare fees.
