[DYSPHAGIA] what's happening to our profession?

This may not be the right forum for this subject, but I thought I'd give it a
chance. I am an SLP working in a large county hospital in a metropolitan city
in the West. We've all seen the results of PPS to SNF's in our country and
know what aweful things have taken place with patient care and job security.
Is it possible that the same results will occur when PPS takes over Rehab in
the next few years? Will we all be out of jobs? Since the field of Speech
Pathology is so increadibly specialized we are basically trained to do
nothing besides Speech Pathology. I'd like to know what other institutions
are experiencing with this and how are you all preparing for this drastic
change?

Thank you for your input!
