In a letter to the eidtor, a goup of Spanish researchers (serra-Pratt, Hinojosa, Lopez, et. al) discuss the revalence of oropharyngeal dysphagia and impaired safety and efficacy of swallow in independently living older persons. The data are presented briefly using an odds ratio.
 
Overall, 27% of their 254 patients showed signs of oropharyngeal dysphagia.
